Adaptation / Enrollment Process

At Nuna Nursery School, we understand that starting in a new school is an important moment for both children and families. Our adaptation process is gradual, flexible and respectful, always prioritising the child’s emotional wellbeing.

Written interview and prior school visit

Before starting, families complete a written interview form sharing the child’s routines, needs and important information.

A visit to the school also takes place before the adaptation begins, so the family can see the space and meet the teacher.

Adaptation without parents in the classroom

The adaptation process is carried out without parents inside the classroom. This allows the child to begin building a direct bond with the teacher and to recognise the classroom as a safe and familiar environment.

Starting with short hours

The first days consist of short sessions, gradually increasing:

Days 1–2: Short stays
Days 3–4: Gradual extension of the schedule
Day 5 onwards: Adapted according to the child’s progress

There is no fixed length. Each child follows their own pace.

Flexibility and emotional support

Adaptation is fully personalised.
We adjust to the needs of each child and family, offering emotional support, gentle routines and continuous communication.

Daily communication

Families receive daily updates about:

The child’s emotional state
Progress and comfort
Activities done
Eating, resting and general wellbeing

Start of full schedule

When the child feels calm, safe and ready, they begin their full school schedule.

From that point on, we continue supporting them through our Play to Learn approach.

At Nuna, adaptation is a gentle, loving and secure beginning.
